Mad Hatter Industries is a veteran-owned, for-profit apparel business based in Kinburn, Ontario. We are not a registered charity. We design, make and sell gear, and we run this company to be sustainable — because a business that can't pay its own bills can't help anyone.
What makes us different is what we do with the platform the business gives us. MHI started in 2019 as a passion project after losing a brother in arms to suicide, and it grew into a community we never expected. We've turned strangers into followers and followers into friends. The brand stands for determination, grit and resilience — the belief that mental toughness is built by overcoming adversity and doing hard things — and our resolve is to use it to back mental-health initiatives and the people in our communities who need a hand. We don't offer treatment or professional services. We encourage people to get the help they need, and we build gear and a community that backs them while they do it.
How we support our communities
A portion of what MHI earns, along with our own time, goes to causes we believe in. Since 2019 we've supported Ruck 4 Remembrance, Canadian Walk for Veterans, Concert for Kids, Feed The Need in Durham, True Patriot Love Foundation, Veterans and Everyday Heroes (V-EH), and Wounded Warriors Canada. We regularly help local families in need and ride in memorial rides to honour those who have gone before us.
Transparency
When we run a campaign for a cause, we tell you exactly where the money goes. Because MHI isn't a registered charity we can't issue tax receipts — when we fundraise, the money goes to the organization we name, and we publish it here. Since we started, MHI has helped raise over $31,703.26 for charitable organizations. The timeline below is the record.
